The OGA exists to promote interest in and encourage development of traditional gaff rigged craft. Membership is open to all who are interested in sailing, building, restoring or simply admiring gaff rigged and other traditionally rigged craft. Races, rallies and other events are organised by area committees throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland with branches in many countries overseas. Members are kept in touch through the association's quarterly news letter, the "Gaffer's Log".
